This painting was born in 2019, in a Cuba marked by blackouts and the loneliness of the pandemic. Without access to canvases due to their high cost, my only option was paper and the light of a lantern to overcome the gloom. It represents the resilience to create when everything seems to be against me; it is a reflection of sadness and scarcity transformed into art.
Today, living in another country, I have managed to digitally transform this work that traveled with me on the plane. It is not just a drawing; it is a piece of my story and proof that, even without resources, the heart always finds a way to express itself. Painting with my soul and a lantern!
